A small shop, on purpose.

EffiWise is a three-person company that builds the software layer small businesses keep needing and never quite getting. We work close to the ground in industries we know, and we'd rather build one thing that lasts than ten things that don't.

How we actually work.

We go in before we build. Every engagement starts inside the operation, with the people doing the work, not the buyer in a conference room. We figure out what's actually wrong, and then the answer reveals itself. Sometimes it's custom software. Sometimes it's a system we run alongside you. Sometimes the honest answer is that you don't need us to build anything at all, and we'll tell you that too.

That last part is the whole point. A software company has to make the answer come out one way, because it only sells one thing. We don't. The times we say "this needs to be built" carry weight precisely because we're willing to say "this doesn't."

Where this comes from.

Matthew spent fifteen years selling utility and construction equipment before building software full time. The throughline was never the equipment or the code. It was the problem. The realization that landed was simple: the love is problem-solving, and technology turned out to be the pathway that let him solve problems in ways nothing else could. That's why EffiWise isn't loyal to a vertical or a stack. It's loyal to the problem.

Insurance is where that method has gone deepest, through Tamara and McWright Insurance Group, the agency that's been the proving ground for everything we ship. That depth produced EffiZoom. The same method, pointed at manufactured housing, produced a dealer OS and an overnight configurator. The pattern travels. That's the bet.

Our mission.

Our mission is simple. Build software the way small operators wish someone would. That means systems designed for the person doing the work, not the person buying it. It means we'd rather show up and earn the next conversation than sell you a contract you can't get out of. And it means we won't build something we wouldn't run ourselves.

  • We work inside operations before we build for them.
  • We name our partners, not our clients. Distribution is mutual.
  • We don't sell software people would be better off without.

About the founders.

EffiWise is run by three co-founders who met where the work actually happens. We're based in Belmont, Mississippi.

Matthew Henry

Co-Founder & CEO

Matthew is the co-founder and CEO of EffiWise. He spent over a decade in utility and construction equipment sales before pivoting full time into software in 2025. He runs product, sales, and client delivery from Belmont, Mississippi. He writes and speaks on AI readiness in insurance and small-firm operations from the operator's seat: every article on this site and every talk he gives is grounded in systems he actually shipped, from EffiZoom's agency deployments to the audits and builds the consulting practice runs. He's spoken for the Mississippi Insurance Agents and led the Big I Illinois hands-on AI workshop.
